Step 01 — Design

A Plan Built Around Your Community

Good playground design starts with listening. Before we draw a single line, we learn who the space is for, how it will be used, and what success looks like for you.

Our collaborative process brings together site assessments, community engagement, accessibility planning, and equipment selection — all guided by a dedicated Flagship Recreation designer. We produce 3D renderings so you can see exactly what you're getting before anything is ordered.

Whether you're starting from a blank lot or reimagining an existing space, we'll map out a plan that fits your budget, your site constraints, and your community's needs.

  • Site assessment and feasibility review
  • Community and stakeholder engagement
  • ADA accessibility and safety planning
  • 3D renderings and equipment layouts
  • Budget and grant guidance

Step 02 — Build

Installation That Fits How You Work

Our Landscape Structures Certified Installation team handles projects across Minnesota — and we're flexible enough to meet you where your community is.

Whether you want us to handle everything or your community wants to get their hands dirty, we have an installation path that works. Every build is managed by a certified project lead with a clear timeline, regular updates, and zero surprises on completion day.

Full Installation

We handle everything — excavation, drainage, assembly, and surfacing. You show up for the ribbon cutting.

Hybrid Build

We dig footers and set the frame. Your community joins in for the finishing touches — panels, slides, the fun stuff.

Community Build

Equipment ships to you with instructions. Your community builds it together — with an optional Flagship supervisor on site.

Step 03 — Maintain

Protect Your Investment. Keep Play Safe.

A playground is only as good as its upkeep. Our maintenance programs keep your equipment safe, compliant, and looking great — year after year.

Flagship Recreation has multiple Certified Playground Safety Inspectors (CPSIs) on staff serving communities across Minnesota. We offer contract maintenance programs that take the guesswork out of compliance, plus retrofit services that can extend the life of structures over 20 years old at a fraction of the cost of replacement.

  • CPSI-certified annual inspections
  • Contract maintenance programs
  • Repair and replacement parts
  • RetroFit services for aging equipment
  • Safety surfacing maintenance
